When I look at the jewelry listed at www.bamshell.com I instantly think classic Hollywood. The names Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren are just a few that come to mind. Glitz and glamor are right at your finger tips.

You can get accessories by the box, or individually by the piece.

You can get accessories by the box, or individually by the piece. Earrings, necklaces, rings, they have it all. Their prices- beyond reasonable, ranging from $5.99 for an individual piece to $18.99 for a box set. Plus- one of my favorite things…..FREE Shipping.

Their jewelry is eclectic and classic.

Their jewelry is eclectic and classic. The three pieces I got (all three earrings) are very versatile. Honestly one pair I will probably lose to my mom when she see it. It’s totally her style, though. That’s another great thing about this- it’s priced reasonably to give as gifts.

You can take your plain T-shirt and jeans and become instantly classy, sassy, and dressed up just by adding a pair of Bamshell earrings!!

Simply Fun- with Sami Bradley

WAHMReviewer – Cecily Butler

Ok, if you have kids then you need to check out this company.

Ok, if you have kids then you need to check out this company. I was super excited to do this review. I contacted Sami Bradley thru Facebook and checked out her website www.simplyfun.com/sbradley . There were so many games and things to chose from. I told Sami about my kids’ ages and what they struggled with in school and said “Surprise Me!” BOY did she! She sent me Math Room for my two girls and Family Stories. My 8 year old daughter was so excited that she got on her iPod and looked up Simply Fun on her own.

I had decided to play Math Room with the girls while my hubby and son went to a basketball game.

She insisted we sit down at dinner and play Family Stories the night we got it. My husband was gone while we ate that night, but man did he miss some neat stuff. The premise behind this game is to answer questions on this key ring of cards. You ask each person playing the game to answer the question and then move on. It’s a great conversation starter and a great way to figure out ‘what your kids are thinking. You know I am constantly amazed by what is going on in their heads and I was pleasantly surprised by their answers. One of the other great things about this game is that you can take it with you. We live several hours away from family that we visit often. This game will definitely be with me the next trip we take. Plus the questions are geared to all ages. Some of the words I had to define for my kids, like ‘accomplishment’. But that’s a good thing. It helps broaden their vocabulary.

“Wait I want to play”

I had decided to play Math Room with the girls while my hubby and son went to a basketball game. But….they couldn’t wait. So we started going over the instructions and my son heard us and said “Wait I want to play”. He’s 11 and this game is geared for ages 5 and up, but it’s simple addition and subtraction. I figured he’d think it was too easy and he would get bored. I honestly lost track of how many times he said “This is a fun game. This is a really fun game.” So it wasn’t too easy for him but it wasn’t too hard for my 5 year old either. I was surprised that she knew some of the answers with out me having to help her. It’s a fairly quick paced game and it doesn’t take long to play.

“This is a fun game. This is a really fun game.”

We tried Family Stories in the car on the way to church the other day. It was enlightening to say the least. The best was when I asked “What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever been?” My 5 yo daughter said “Wal-mart!” This game is great. We all love it. There are at least 3 more card games like this.

If you want to learn more about these fabulous games or the many more Simply Fun has to offer you can check Sami out on Facebook www.facebook.com/simplyfunsami or at her webpage www.simplyfun.com/sbradley

Bows By Zanz

WAHMReviewer – Cecily Butler

I have two daughters, ages 8 and 5 who love hair bows! I was really excited to do the review for Bows by Zana. I was even more excited when I found out the business is owned and the bows are designed and made by 6 year old Zana (with the help of her mom of course, but its Zana’s show).

I contacted Kristina and she asked me to look at their page and see if there were bows I liked or one I wanted her to make something similar to. I decided to let my girls help with this review. They both sat down and chose bows that there were already pictures of. The oldest chose one with her school colors and the youngest went for the pretty one with princesses on it and a sparkly button. They couldn’t wait to get their bows.

When they got them, they started jumping up and down, they were so excited. They both went and picked out clothes to match to wear the next day.

Monkey, my 5 yo loved her princess hair bow. She says “I like it. It is SO pretty.

Princess, my 8 yo is big on school spirit. Her school colors are black and white and their mascot is a panther. So the animal paws were great.

OKinaBox

I grew up in OK and moved away when I started college and haven’t moved back. So when I got the opportunity to do this review I was super excited.

I grew up in OK and moved away when I started college and haven’t moved back. So when I got the opportunity to do this review I was super excited. I contacted them thru Facebook (www.facebook.com/OKinAbox) and was shocked when just a few days later I had a box in the mail. The shipping was super fast.

The first thing I tried was the Cinnamon Sugar covered pecans! WOW. Yummy! I didn’t want to share. However, my hubby found them and thought they’d be great to take hunting and I never saw them again.

My son harvested his first deer. I thought it would be great to try the Daddy Hinkle’s Onion and Garlic marinade on it. WOW! It was. It was super easy and very tasty. That same night we made the Mama Rae’s Spunky Spuds. Those too were really easy and yummy. I liked having a different option for making potatoes. They were almost like fried potatoes with out the frying.

That same night we made the Mama Rae’s Spunky Spuds. Those too were really easy and yummy.

However, my favorite of the night was biscuits with the Southern Okie Gourmet Apple spread. I’m not a fan off apple butter or apple jam or even apple pie. But this stuff is totally amazing. Oh my goodness I wanted to make biscuits every day just so I could eat it (that seemed just slightly more appropriate than sitting down and eating the jarful with a spoon).

However, my favorite of the night was biscuits with the Southern Okie Gourmet Apple spread.

I must admit I was hesitant to try the Mama Rae’s Holy Guacamole. My family and I aren’t big fan’s of guacamole. Plus, I had just tried to make some on my own and it was a total failure. So it took a little bit for me to get up the nerve (and to remember to buy avocados at the store). I let my 8 yo help me and finally had to make her leave the counter because “Mom, I just can’t stop eating it”. It’s really really good.

I only have a couple of suggestions. It would be nice if the Mama Rae’s stuff was in re-sealable bags; b/c there’s more than one serving (which is TOTALLY awesome). Also, the directions for the Holy Guacamole called for Mama Rae’s salsa. I didn’t have that, so I just used the salsa I had, but it would have been neat to have the Mama Rae’s to try as well.

This box subscription is really cool because you get different items each month. You can look on their website is www.okinabox.com and see what this month’s goodies are. Subscriptions are available in three different levels, 1 month ($29), 3 months ($24/month), or 6 months ($19/month). Oh- and they always have free shipping. If you long for the taste of home, or just want to try something new, I’d recommend OKinaBox! This makes a great gift, too.

One Earth Teas

WAHMReviewer – Cecily Butler

I must admit I can’t stand coffee. Bleck, eck, yuck! But….give me a nice hot cup of tea and I’m a happy girl. I think it must be my mom’s fault. I still remember when I was sick as a kid she’d make me chamomile tea and English muffins. She and dad always drank coffee, they still do. The only reason I registered for a coffee pot when I got married was so I would have one when they came to visit. But the tea kettle…that was all mine! I have tons of coffee cups to use with my tea too. Tee hee.

I will admit when Mary asked me to review One Earth I was a bit nervous because they are loose leaf teas and honestly, I don’t have much experience with them (at least that I remember as an adult- mom had some funny spoon with holes that she used occasionally when I was a kid). There’s no real reason for my lack of experience other than just always purchasing tea already bagged. That’s what I’ve known.

Mary sent me three flavors (and in really big bags I might add-WOW) Caramel Flan, Orange Moroccan Mint, and Cinnamon Orange.

Mary sent me three flavors (and in really big bags I might add-WOW) Caramel Flan, Orange Moroccan Mint, and Cinnamon Orange. I also got a mesh infuser and a box of tea- sac tea filters too. I was blown away. I love having the various options for making tea.

I used the metal infuser to make a cup of tea for just me. When my family was visiting I used the tea filters to make a whole pot! One major bonus to loose leaf tea- I can make a whole pot at once and not have to keep remaking bag after bag when I want more!

Each bag had detailed instructions on how to make that particular tea, including, how long to steep the tea and how much to use.

Each bag had detailed instructions on how to make that particular tea, including, how long to steep the tea and how much to use. That was really helpful because, like I said, I’m not real familiar with loose leaf teas. I loved that.

I tried the teas with my tea kettle and my Keurig too. With the tea kettle I boiled the water and then added it to the tea for an individual cup (with the infuser). To make an entire kettle of tea I boiled the water and then placed the bag filter in the kettle. For the Keurig I ran the water thru and into my cup that had the infuser already sitting with the tea in it. All of the methods worked the same. It was great.

I tried the teas with my tea kettle and my Keurig too.

I am a girl who likes her tea sweet and with cream or milk most of the time. But I decided to try each of the flavors on their own before I added anything two it. The Orange Moroccan Mint was a smooth tea that had a mild flavor. You could taste the orange and mint flavors just enough. The Caramel Flan was a creamier flavor that kind of melted in your mouth. The Cinnamon Orange is my favorite though. It had a very full cinnamon flavor with just a hint of orange perfect for a cloudy cool morning. I did find that I still liked all of them better with a little sweetener and milk, lol. But…that’s just how I like my tea.

The prices for the teas are actually fairly reasonable when you consider how much you get. The Orange Moroccan Mint is $13.95, Caramel Flan is $14.95, as is the Cinnamon Orange. The bags are 75 g. The metal mesh infuser is and box of 100 paper tea filters are $10.95. One Earth is based in Canada and offers international shipping.
