5 years with a Monkey.

Five years ago today I gave birth to my second daughter. She has been happy since day one. She is full of life and love and makes me laugh. She is my third and definitely my last child! I love every minute I get to spend with her.

I remember being upset when the ultra sound showed we were having another girl. I thought I wanted another boy. God knew what He was doing, as usual. My life is so much better for having this little character in it. I can’t imagine what my life would be like with out her and I don’t want to. She keeps us all guessing what’s she’s going to do next.

She was born the day after her Great-Grandma’s 82nd birthday, and they share a similar name. They also share a twinkle in their eye that let you know there is always something going on in that brain of theirs and usually it’s something ornery.

Happy Birthday my red-headed Monkey! I love you and can’t wait to see the wonderful things God has planned for your future!

Grace Adele with Erin Oldham

When I got asked to do the review for Erin’s Grace Adele business I was super excited to say the least. I’d been looking at Grace Adele purses for nearly a year. But, I’m picky with my purses I was leery about ordering one online. I do have a friend with one, but still I wasn’t sure…..

Erin suggested I look at her website erinoldham.graceadele.us and pick out what I want!!!! I could hardly sit still! I LOVE purple and they have a TON of purple purses. Ahhh, the things that make a girl happy. I had a really really hard time choosing because there were so many options. I finally decided on Sarah- in purple of course!

Today when I got home there was a HUGE box waiting for me. I knew instantly it was my purse. It didn’t take long to get here at all. I opened it up and was impressed; the inside of the box was pretty!! Then I took the purse out and even the tissue inside the bag was pretty. To me it says a lot when a company cares enough to dress up the packaging. The purse was in a plastic bag and all the straps were protected as well. It was a bigger purse than I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised. When I took it out of the box I was a bit concerned because I thought it was going to be a really heavy purse, just based on size. Once I took all the stuffing out, it was really nice. It’s not too heavy at all- which is great for a purse that size. I was also very surprised by all the pockets in it. The pictures online showed the inside, but there were way more pockets than were visible in the picture. There was even a waterproof bag in it, great for stuff like lotions and lipsticks!!  I’ve learned that all the pockets inside are called an ‘intelligent interior’. I must say it is at that! I love everything about this purse so far….Image

Fast forward 2 weeks!!!!! I’ve been carrying the purse for about two weeks now. I’m still in love with it. It’s held up well so far.  When I got the purse I was honestly a little concerned because the cool thing about Grace Adele purses is that you can purchase clutches, jewelry, wallets, and all kinds of accessories to go with it. That’s how you make them more uniquely yours. I didn’t get all that with mine, and that’s fine because I was mostly interested in the purse itself. When I got the purse I fell in love with it, just the way it was. I didn’t need all the extras. On one hand it would be nice to have some of them, but on the other, I really love the simplicity of the design I chose. So does everyone I work with. A few of them have tried to find a way to make it accidentally go home with them.

These purses run about $80 a bag, some are man-made products and some are genuine leather. I must say that I don’t see the point in paying the same price for a genuine leather bag, as a faux one though. That’s probably my only complaint about these bags. Although the faux one I have is very good quality. You can get a bit of a discount on the bag if you build a multipack. It consists of a purse and two accessories, usually a clutch and a wallet. One good thing is that when I want a new bag, I can just add something to this one and I have a new bag!!! It’s wonderful.

If you would like to contact Erin and get one of these great bags for yourself you can find her at the website above, or at erinoldham82@gmail.com . She’s a delight to work with and I know you won’t be let down.

One of those days. …

Have you ever had one of those days? ?? No I don’t mean one of those…. I mean one where you know you’re on the right path.  You know you are doing what God had in mind for you.

I recently had one of those. I am a part time school nurse.  I only work 8 hours a week,  but I love every minute of it. The other day I had a student come to me with a concern and I was able to help them.  This was more than just a band aid, but the hugs and thanks I get
for those are pretty awesome too.
It was awesome too see that God had put me there to be able to help this student. I had fulfilled a purpose.

I love my job as a mommy and wife. I also feel especially blessed that I get to be a school nurse too.

Sweet dreams & Pleasant nightmares.

Kronotex floors

So when we bought our house it had white carpet in it. Well,….after living here for 7 years with 2 dogs and 3 kids, it was no longer white- it was more the shade of dirt with dark mystery spots…..YUCK. We had had enough.

We’d talked about replacing the sun room floor with laminate for awhile. We’d checked several places and I heard a commercial about a store in a town about 45 min away that had laminate as low as $0.59/ sq ft. So we went to check it out. They even had pallets with mixed lots of flooring that wound up being about $0.04/ sq ft! We checked it all out and decided on some flooring that we liked the color of and it was all new in the box and after researching it decided it was going to be a decent brand. It didn’t hurt that it was $0.79/ sq ft.

We watched videos on how to put it in and took our time planning it all out. We moved the furniture out and around. We took pictures all along the way. It wasn’t hard to install, but it wasn’t easy either. It was a good thing there were two of us. The particular floor we got was Kronotex Designer Series. It had the 5G connector system that doesn’t require any tools and is Kronotex’s top of the line from what we could tell. It has this little piece of blue plastic on the short ends to help keep it together. Then it has a tongue and groove that clicks together on the long ends. After we got most of the floor done we realized that some of the long ends weren’t flush. They aren’t buckled and you don’t even really notice it if you are just looking. You notice it if you run your hand across the floor. It’s just enough though that it could get caught if you drag a piece of furniture across it.

So—-what do we do? We emailed the company. We aren’t overly concerned, but just want to know if it’s going to settle down eventually. After hearing nothing back after approximately a week I called. They said I had to contact the store where I bought the flooring and have the file a claim.?!?!?! Seriously?!?! I just wanted my question answered. So I call the store and explain and the manager was extremely polite and said it wouldn’t do any good to file a claim because we installed it ourselves. We discussed the issue we were having and she tried to help but didn’t think the flooring would settle. So my husband emailed Kronotex. After 2 weeks…..still NOTHING. Honestly- we like the floor, we just have a question. So I emailed them again and told them based on their poor customer service I will never be buying a Kronotex floor again. Sad thing is, it really doesn’t have anything to do with the quality of the floor. For the most part we’re really happy with it. It looks amazing in the sun room. It matches the wood trim we already have. It really looks nice and makes the room pop. But I can’t stand poor customer service.
